Yu Zhihua, born in 1947, is from Hangzhou, Zhejiang, and is known as a person from Shilongshan. National first-class artist; Member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association; Member of the Chinese Artists Association; Member of the Chinese Couplet Association; Honorary Dean of the Calligraphy and Painting Academy of the Palace Museum in Taiwan; Visiting Professor; Chief Artist of World Science, Education, Culture and Health, Executive Committee Member; Doctoral supervisor in the Department of Arts at the University of Oxford, UK. In the 1970s, he was employed by Professor Zhulesan of the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts, as well as Mr. Zhou Changgu and Mr. Yu Rentian. Calligraphy and painting were taught by Sha Menghai, Tang Yun, Lu Yanshao, Zhu Heng, and Guo Zhong as private ladies and disciples. “The Little Scenery of Chunjiang” was praised by General Zhang Aiping and Wang Bomin of the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts, Kong Zhongqi, Shu Chuanxi, Liu Jiang, Tong Zhongtao, Lu Kunfeng, Zeng Mi, Wu Shanming, Shanghai Shi Nanchi, Nanjing Lin Sanzhi, Chen Dayu, and his mentor Zhou Erfu in Beijing. Later, he built the Lu Jingshan “Xingsu Bookstore” Mr. Yu Zhihua, named by Sha Menghai, Tang Yun, and Liu Yi, has devoted himself to learning for more than ten years. He is a unique calligrapher and painter with a life philosophy of not having arrogance, but having a strong character! He is currently the Honorary President of the Chinese Cultural and Art Society, a member of the Chinese Artists Association, a national first-class artist, and a consultant to the Shanghai Calligraphers Association. He has led several delegations to France, Russia, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Belgium, and other countries for cultural exchanges. He has 30 websites including People’s Daily, CCTV, China Enterprise Network, and Phoenix Network Multiple special interviews and reports have been conducted by China Network Television, People’s Daily Overseas Edition, China Film Daily, Wang Xizhi’s Calligraphy and Painting Newspaper, Zhejiang TV, West Lake Pearl, World Knowledge and Painting Newspaper, China Poverty Alleviation Magazine, Xinhua News Agency Habitat Magazine, and other media outlets. The works have been auctioned off at auction houses such as Hanhai and Poly. The full page introduction of People’s Daily Overseas Edition and the full second page introduction of China Film Newspaper have been repeatedly introduced by magazines such as World Knowledge, Xinhua News Agency, Human Settlements, and China Poverty Alleviation. The city government of Ganden in the UK, the University of Cambridge, the French cultural department of the Dubai royal family, the Russian Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Thai Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Ukrainian President Kuchma, and Taiwan leader Ma Ying jeou’s Lien Chan Collection. The works were included in the “Complete Works of Contemporary Chinese Calligraphers and Painters”, “Focusing on Chinese Scholars in the New Era”, “Yearbook of Chinese Artists”, and “Chinese Artist Encyclopedia”, and were selected for the “50th Anniversary of Sino Japanese Diplomatic Relations” art exhibition.
